Marketing/Community Relations Director

In August of 2022, Kim joined the Hawkeye Care Center Team as the Community Relations/Marketing Director. She has over 25 years of experience working in the human services field. She worked in long term care as a Social Services Coordinator for 5 years prior to coming to Hawkeye.  Developing relationships and serving others gives Kim great satisfaction. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Steve, reading, looking for a good bargain, gardening, and traveling. 

Renee Pilcher

Assistant Director of Nursing

 

Renee brings 29 years of nursing experience within the Dubuque community to Hawkeye Care Center. She attended Northeast Iowa Community College for her Associates degree and continued her education throughout her career by earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Education from Capella University. Renee has worked in a variety of setting from the acute care to long term care. She was also an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Clarke University for 11 years where she shared her expertise while teaching future nurses. She has a dedication and compassion to the field of nursing along with a passion for life-long learning. Her motto is to treat everyone as your family member and the way you would want to be treated. She brings her commitment to providing excellent quality care to the residents at Hawkeye in her role as an MDS Coordinator/Care Plan Nurse.  Outside of work Renee enjoys spending time with her family and traveling to the National Parks to see the beauty while also rejuvenating her soul with her husband, Wade. She enjoys going to Chicago for a quick weekend trip to visit her daughter, Rachael, and to enjoying some good food and shopping.

Heather is the Director of Nursing. She comes to our facility with 13 years of experience in long term care. Heather began her career as a CNA and has enjoyed learning the many different roles for nurses in long term care. She attended Northeast Iowa Community College for her Associates degree and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree from Clarke University. Outside of work Heather enjoys fishing, boat rides and spending time with her family.

Amy Turner - HR

Amy joined the Hawkeye Care Team in September 2015.  Amy received the vast majority of her HR experience during the previous 27 years with a local manufacturing company where she was allowed to grow within the company gaining great experiences in Human Resources and making wonderful friends. 

Amy is a 2016 graduate from the University of Dubuque with her Bachelors in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management.   Amy completed her degree later in life, but is proud to know she took the time to finish what she started.   Amy shares being a University of Dubuque graduate with her mother and her niece.  

Amy enjoys being a part of the front-end operation of Hawkeye Care Center, getting to know employees, residents and resident families.  Amy’s primary responsibility is managing the facility recruiting along with employee retention.  Amy’s focus is to understand the need of the position and find the candidate who best fits the role.

Amy takes pride in providing excellent customer service to those who cross her path.  Amy’s known to be heard saying “Make it a great day”; Amy believes we have a large control over how our day turns out, so with positive thinking we can overcome any negative issues.

Amy In her spare time enjoys time with her: husband, dog, family, neighbors and Shamrock friends. Amy is known to be talked into a gambling adventure with her sister and friend Cathy.

Jen Wernimont - Social Worker

Jen is a Dubuque native and a graduate of Hempstead High School and Loras College where she studied social work. Jen and her husband Chad have two children, Braden and Lauren. In her free time, Jen enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks, making photo albums and “retail therapy” (shopping).

Jen joined the Hawkeye Care Center family in July of 2007. In her role she assists residents and their family members with the admission and discharge processes and anything that comes up in between. She has a passion for getting to know our residents and their families and partnering with them on this journey.

Holly O'Neill - Office Manager

Office Manager

Holly is the new Office Manager here at Hawkeye Care. In her first career she was a CNC machine programmer/operator which she did for 13 years. She then decided it was time for a change and went to work in a local skilled nursing home. She started out as a Universal Caregiver in Assisted Living which “had to be my favorite job ever held.”  She loved being able to get close to the residents and seeing them light up when she would walk in the room. Holly then accepted the Administrative Assistant/Scheduler position at the same facility which she did for 3 years. Holly says “I am very pleased to be here now and am hoping my experience and knowledge will help further along Hawkeye.”

Holly was just married mid-July to Brian O’Neill after being together after 20 years. She said “I guess it was about time.” Her “fur kids” keep her going and young. She currently has two Corgi puppies, Charlotte and Wilbur. Holly and Brian spend their entire summer camping, kayaking, hiking, fishing, an anything that involves being outdoors. She says she hates the cold winters so she usually hibernates at that time.

Katie Sadler - Rehabilitation Director

Katie has over 24 years of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant and many years as a rehab director as well. She has worked in skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, home health and schools both in Iowa and Illinois. She is certified in Lymphedema Management, Ergonomics and ASYYM. Katie is a Dyersville native and still calls it home. She is married to Larry and they have 2 children, Jacob who is 19 years old and Evelyn who is 16.

Pam Baysinger - Housekeeping

Housekeeping and Laundry Supervisor

Pam has worked for Hawkeye Care Center for 41 years. She started her career with us as a CNA and then moved over to housekeeping and laundry. She is passionate about keeping the facility clean and has done a great job with keeping the facility disinfected through the pandemic as well.

Pam and her husband have been married for 49 years. They have a daughter, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. When not working or spending time with her family, Pam enjoys listening to music, going to the casinos, boating and spending time honing her skills at the gun range.

Nadine Donath - Activities Director

Nadine started with Hawkeye in 2014 in the dietary department and then moved over into activities a short time later. She is creative, outgoing and always has the residents’ best interests in mind when planning and doing activities.

Nadine and her husband Greg have been married for 36 years and have 2 daughters who are married to two good men. Nadine and Greg also have 3 grandsons and are hoping for more. In her free time, she loves spending time with them as well and fishing, embroidery and crafting. Nadine is a member of the National League of POW-MIA family group for many years and it is something that is very dear to her heart.

Bob Jennings - Maintenance Supervisor

Bob has been with Hawkeye Care Center for 11 years and has an extensive background in HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and Construction. Bob’s vast pool of knowledge means he can just about fix anything. Bob and his wife Belinda believe family is of the utmost importance and love spending time with their 6 kids, 6 grandkids, 4 grandparents, 2 pot belly pigs, 10 chickens, and their dog Scout. Bob also enjoys car shows, boating, rebuilding vehicles and restoring houses, music and dancing. Bob and Belinda enjoy life to the fullest everyday!

Vicki McIntyre - Dietary Manager

Vicki is a certified dietary manager who started at Hawkeye Care Center in 2011. She works diligently to ensure that the residents get good nutritional meals and snacks each and every day. Vicki and her husband Tim raised three children together and have a fur baby named Bernie. They enjoy watching the Chicago Cubs and attending baseball games. They are a house divided in the fall as Vicki is a Packer’s fan and Tim is a Viking’s fan. The enjoy the fun and competition during the season.

Kathy has worked at Hawkeye in this capacity since 2006. Kathy has been a nurse for over 30 years. Kathy and her husband of 29 years, Leonard, have 3 children and recently became grandparents. She enjoys golfing, spending time by the pool, going warm places in the winter and now, spoiling her granddaughter.

Tracey comes to Hawkeye Care Center with 11 years of experience in the healthcare industry. She began her career in long term care as a Social Service Director and transitioned to the role of Administrator five years ago. She strives to incorporate mentoring and coaching in her leadership style and believes communication is of the utmost importance in building relationships and a strong team. Outside of work Tracey enjoys gardening, traveling, biking, and spending time with her family.
